A family-run practice!
Thomas Martin
Physician Assistant and Clinical Coordinator
I’m originally from Wisconsin and have been a true Packer fan and Brewers fan since I was born. I have always enjoyed nature and seen it as a playground. I have dabbled in mountaineering, rock climbing, canyoneering, and mountain biking. Going for long hikes will always be my favorite form of meditation.
My wife and I moved to Arizona for my education at Midwestern University. I graduated in 2012 and over the last 12 years my career has taken me through Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Psychiatry. Developing strong patient-provider relationships and helping people in the long term have become my passions. Assisting others to find peace and happiness is so rewarding.
Medicines like Ketamine are so different from everything that has been readily available and prescribed to people for their mental health. At True Self, we offer you a space to find your inner peace. We will help you become a “the glass is half full” person. We offer guidance and perspective that can help one strengthen their mental fortitude and overcome obstacles. I look forward to working with you.
Sarah Martin
Transformational and Integration Coach
Hi! My name is Sarah and I am your transformational and integration coach.
It is my honor to walk the path of healing with you and help you rediscover your “True Self.” One can find true healing by looking within, shedding stored patterns, and liberating oneself to love and nourish one's mind, body, and soul.
I was a teacher for ten years before my husband, Tom, and I welcomed two beautiful children into our lives. Stored childhood wounds and life’s human experiences left me with a persistent feeling of anxiety. Our second child was born with Congenital Heart Disease which left me in an even higher state of anxiety and depression. One of the most beautiful and fulfilling experiences of my life had left me lost, confused, and emotionally and physically drained. My life experiences and healing journey around entheogenic medicines have given me the knowledge and ability to hold healing spaces for others in their darkest, most unnerving, and defenseless places. Doing this from a nonjudgmental place of compassion, love, and understanding is my passion and purpose. I am deeply humbled and filled with gratitude to accompany you on this journey.

FAQ
1. Is Ketamine safe?
Ketamine is considered safe and effective when used in a medical setting by trained healthcare professionals. It is commonly used as an anesthetic and for pain management in both humans and animals.
2. How long will my treatment take?
Ketamine sessions typically last about 60 minutes, and we recommend setting aside at least 2 hours for your visit to allow for preparation, the medicine journey, and recovery time.
3. What does the experience feel like?
The psychedelic experience of ketamine can vary greatly depending on the dose, the individual, and even experience to experience with the same individual. Generally, ketamine is known for producing a dissociative state, where users may feel detached from their body and surroundings. This can lead to a sense of floating, time distortion, and a feeling of being disconnected from reality.
4. Can I drive home?
No, it is not safe to drive after undergoing a ketamine treatment. Ketamine can impair your coordination, reaction time, and cognitive function, making it dangerous to operate a vehicle. It is important to arrange for a safe and sober ride home after your therapy session.
5. Is ketamine covered by insurance?
Ketamine treatments are typically not covered by insurance. We will provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance.
6. What should I bring with me?
You don't need to bring anything! We will provide you with an eye mask, noise-canceling headphones, a blanket, and a pillow. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Keep in mind that we will need access to your arm for the shot.
7. Do I need to stop any of my medications?
Your medications and conditions will be evaluated during your initial consultation. Your healthcare provider will be able to provide guidance on how to safely proceed with ketamine therapy while managing any current medications you may be taking.
